Global Journeys
Global Journeys designs meaningful and exciting study travel
programs for secondary school students in association with
Appleby College - world renowned for its educational
excellence.
We
are committed to offering students an incredible experience
in an enhanced learning environment with comprehensive
course material which meets and exceeds Ontario Ministry of
Education guidelines.
Students join Global Journeys from across Canada and the US
to earn an Ontario secondary school credit or equivalent,
when they participate in our programs that take place
throughout Europe, New Zealand, Australia, South America,
Southeast Asia, Africa, Central America, Bermuda and Canada.
Our Ontario certified teachers and accredited courses
challenge and inspire students in preparation for higher
learning at universities around the world - and we make it
fun!
Debra
Pedersen, Director of Operations,
heads the team at Global Journeys, and has been
involved at all levels with the supervision, organization,
implementation and direction of several international
educational programs for 10 years. In addition, she
has managed numerous youth initiative projects and worked
for 11 years in the design and management of a
series of youth and adult education facilities. She holds an honours
degree in Anthropology and Geography, speaks several
languages and has traveled extensively.

Doran, Academic Advisor, B.A., M.Ed.
Pip
Sadowski,
Academic Director, B.A., P.G.C.E.,
with 36
years experience in education in both Canada and Europe, Pip
brings extensive experience as a teacher, college lecturer,
school administrator, curriculum writer, and continuing
education supervisor. She has worked in both educational and
business settings coaching teachers and students and has
traveled extensively with student groups throughout the
world. She is responsible for hiring and managing our
exceptional team of teachers and coordinates all dimensions
of the academic components of our Global Journeys programs.

Appleby
College rigorously reviews and accredits secondary school
courses designed by Global Journeys, and
was
recently cited as “setting the benchmark for excellence among independent
schools” by the Canadian Educational Standards Institute
(CESI).
Founded in
1911, Appleby College is a non-profit co-educational
independent school for students in Grades 7 to 12, located in
Oakville, Ontario. The school’s mission is to educate
and equip students to become major contributors to, leaders
in, and valued representatives of their Canadian and

Programs
offered through Global Journeys and accredited by Appleby
College provide
students with a reliable and dependable way to earn an
Ontario Ministry of Education secondary
school credit (or equivalent credit for Out-of-Province
students) in an enhanced learning environment.
Students who join our programs come from schools all
over Canada and the USA, and have a keen interest in expanding
their boundaries.
Participants
are toured around the cities where our programs are held to experience the many districts,
world renowned landmarks, and quaint spots they might otherwise
miss - and all of this is included in the program. In addition,
we offer exciting excursions outside of the region in which
we are based for those who wish to take the option
to explore beyond the program.
Our
qualified Teachers from schools across Ontario, staff and supervisors
have had years of experience in the education and travel
fields and will offer students a memorable and incredible
learning experience. Naturally, security and safety of our
student participants is one of our main concerns, and we
take this seriously by providing appropriate supervision and
by monitoring world situations daily.
Travel
arrangements are made in association with
Streetsville Travel Service, an established
agency, which has been in operation for over 45 years and
is registered with TICO (the Travel Industry Council of Ontario).
