The Global
Journeys program provided me with an opportunity of a
lifetime. Although I was learning Grade 12 English, I ended
up learning much, much more. Mr. Wright is a fabulous
teacher; I will forever love English because of him. The
workload may have seemed heavy, but looking back now I
realize that that's the sort of work ethic I'll need for
University. The program was a great means of preparation.
Global Journeys introduced me to some wonderful people with
whom I'm still friends with and keep in contact!

I just wanted to
take a minute and thank you for organizing such an
incredible trip. It was definitely an experience of a
lifetime. I have so many fond memories that I know I'll
cherish always. I did everything and anything I possibly
could to pack the trip full of new experiences – you should
see how many pamphlets I have from places I visited. Even
after 18 rolls of film, I felt I hadn't documented enough.

Just
a short email to tell you how wonderful S. is doing.
She is loving London and everything that goes with it.
She is thrilled with Ms. Inglis and even feels as though she
is like a friend to the kids. She also speaks very
highly of Kirsten. I thank you all for putting
together such an amazing trip. The kids are seeing so
many new things, experiencing so much and learning at the
same time.

Well I'm
just emailing Global Journeys to thank them for one of the
best summers of my life which was trip GREECE/ ITALY 2004.I
came away with a lot learned not just about school but my
self. The tour guide in Greece "George" was amazing and
defiantly should be recommended for next year. The teachers
all did a great job, group leader did an outstanding job
running the excursions and handling things around the group,
I think she was a big part in the trip's success.

As I boarded the
plane just over a week ago, I was overwhelmed with feelings
of nervousness and excitement at the opportunity to spend a
month abroad. Since then, the nervousness has
subsided, only to be replaced with enthusiasm and
anticipation. The number of experiences which have
occurred in this past week are amazing. From being greeted
by Chris, our vibrantly outgoing tour guide dressed in a
traditional Scottish kilt, to participating in an eerie
ghost tour of the underground vaults and Old Edinburgh, the
amount to see and do is endless! And, who could forget
viewing J.K. Rowling’s original Harry Potter manuscripts,
visiting the ancient Craigmillar Castle, or the many brave
attempts to try the unidentifiable food at dinner? Our
trip to Scotland has been full of memorable events and as we
prepare to leave for Ireland, we await in happy anticipation
the adventures ahead.

The sights in
New Zealand and Australia were extraordinary and by far the
most beautiful places I have ever been too. For the past
month I had an awesome time and have been overwhelmed with
fun, excitement and knowledge that will have an impact on
the rest of my life!

I just wanted
to e-mail you to thank-you for the fabulous job you all did
in making the Scotland/Ireland trip such a success. M. had
an incredible experience and I am sure this trip and
memories will always be very special to him. P. and I were
very impressed with the planning and commitment to make sure
the boys had a great experience.

time and did things that I could have never done anywhere
else! The trip was very well organized and the excursions
really complimented the material learned in class!

This was the
best experience of my life! I had such an amazing time and
really improved my French too! Staying at a university
campus in Paris is a really good experience because soon, we
will have to be making some choices and it gives a good
taste of university life. I truly will cherish this
experience forever!
Student, France
I received
that chance to experience things I may never get the time to
do again but if I could I definitely would love to live the
experience over again!

soooo much! Thank you for this experience, I’ll never forget
it!!!

Summer 2004
Greece/Italy was the most worthwhile experience of my life
so far. The credit, although the reason parents send their
children, is but an added bonus as the real purpose is to
open the doors of the world to Canadian students. The class
work is quite the compliment to the breathtaking
sights….This experience truly changes lives, as the students
grow together, both socially and intellectually. Global
Journeys made for the best summer of my life, introducing me
to lifelong friends and the beauty of travel!
Student,
Greece/Italy
Awesome
experience, I’ll never forget it!
Student, New

I found the
experience wonderful and love every minute of it. The
teachers and the staff were always there to help and answer
questions or organize things to do!
Student, New

This trip has
been unbelievable – I can’t count all the things I have done
and seen. I know that the friends I’ve made and the memories
I have shared are going to last a lifetime! In all the fun
I’ve been having this summer I have still managed to earn a
credit in Biology!
Student, New

The rain pours
down around me, soaking me to the bone, and my umbrella is
back in my dorm room. It is my first time in Europe -
Edinburgh, Scotland to be exact, and I’m cold, wet and
having a great time. Despite the weather, the city is
one of the most amazing places I have ever been. There
are so many hundred, even thousand-year-old buildings, each
one more interesting than the last. The food, though,
is a big adjustment for me. There are no chocolate
chip cookies here - biscuits only! Looking elsewhere
for a sugar-fix, I discovered my new favorite dessert in the
Deacon’s House Café on the Royal Mile: Caramel
Shortbread, a three-layer sweet of traditional shortbread
on the bottom, a caramel-honey layer in the middle, topped
with chocolate. Wrap it in “cling flin”, which I now
understand to be saran wrap, and I am ready to go.
