Journey with us to Belize.....where you will find the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world, beautiful beaches, tropical rainforests, wildlife sanctuaries, spectacular underground caverns, and ancient Mayan ruins - all in one region!

  • Explore the lush jungle where iguanas, crocodiles, howler monkeys, and an amazing variety of bird species co-exist

  • Climb the steps of majestic temples left by the once powerful and wealthy Mayan civilization

  • Snorkel along the coral reef and experience a colourful and amazing underwater world full of marine life

  • Swim in naturally formed pools below waterfalls

  • Tube through massive underground cave systems

  • Explore underground caves where ancient civilizations once inhabited

  • Experience a visit to the zoo in the dark with flashlights and head lamps to see species come to life at night

SAMPLE ITINERARY:

 

DAY 1:

Departing from Toronto Pearson Airport

Arrival at Belize Airport

We will be Picked up and transferred to the Tropical Education Centre

where we have lunch and time to settle in.

Group will be transferred to the Monkey Bay Sanctuary for a fun workshop on the History and Ecology of Belize followed by a guided tour through forests, and a trek down to the river to go swimming and a ride in canoes 

We will head back to the Tropical Education Centre for dinner

After dinner we will have a guided tour of the Belize Zoo in the dark.

Bring your flashlights with you!

Overnight at the Tropical Education Centre

 

DAY 2:

Volunteer Work will take place over 2 days for a total of 10 hours

 

Breakfast

Group will be transferred to the village of La Democracia for a tour with one of the locals.

We then head to the local school to meet the students. We will have a recreational activity and begin our volunteer work at the school and other rural schools in the vicinity.

This will include painting rooms and building much needed sidewalks near and on school grounds which students can use - particularly during the rainy season when the area is becomes flooded and muddy.

 

We will have a packed lunch on site at the school

 

Group will go to Monkey Bay for recreational activities on grounds

Dinner at Monkey Bay

After dinner we will go horseback riding and then have a bonfire

 

Return to Tropical Education Centre

 

DAY 3:

Breakfast

Transfer to La Democracia school to continue with volunteer projects

and recreational activities on grounds

Packed Lunch

Group will be picked up and transferred to Caves Branch

Drive is approximately 1 hour

Enroute we will stop at the Art Box Store for some shopping

Arrival at Caves Branch

Dinner

Evening Hike and free time to use pool

Overnight at Caves Branch

 

DAY 4:

Breakfast

Visit to Xunantunich Maya Ruins - excursion for entire group

Lunch Enroute

Dinner at Caves Branch

Overnight at Caves Branch

 

DAY 5:

Breakfast

Students will have a choice of one excursion:

Black Hole Drop rappelling/Hike near Waterfalls/ Visit Maya Ceremonial Caves

Packed Lunch

Group Tour of Blue Hole, bird watching and swimming

Dinner

 

Evening: Jungle Safari After Dark excursion for whole group

 

DAY 6:

Early Breakfast

And Early Departure for Snorkeling/Beach Excursion

Bring your snorkel gear!

Lunch enroute

Return for dinner

Overnight at Caves Branch

 

DAY 7:

Breakfast

River Caves Expedition and Cave Tubing

Packed Lunch

Free time for swimming or recreational activities onsite

Dinner

Overnight at Caves Branch

 

DAY8:

Early Breakfast and Departure for flight to Toronto

Departure for Belize Airport

 


 

March Break Program includes:

All Airport Transfers

Private Coach Transfers for activities when required

Guided tours, visits and entrance fees as per itinerary

Accommodation in twins or triples

Full Breakfasts, Lunches and Dinners with juice/water daily

 

Volunteer Projects will include:

Hands-on activities in the tropical rain forests to encourage the understanding of sustainable use, and focus on conservation of available resources for future generations as well as preservation of local wildlife. Visits to local schools in rural and impoverished areas of Belize and work on buildings if permitted based on age group of participants.
