Explore the
imperial city of Rome
with its amazing history, incredible monuments, narrow alleys
and bustling cafes. Highlights of our trip include visits to the Colosseum, Forum, Palantine Hill, Baths of Carcalla, the
Catacombs, the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel, Villa Borghese
and the vibrant life in the many piazzas in central Rome.
Day 1:
We meet at
Toronto Pearson Airport and depart on an overnight
flight to Rome
to embark on an exciting journey!
Day 2:
We transfer to
our hotel in Rome and settle in.
Afternoon, mini
course in Italian and tour of the city
Dinner at hotel
Visit Piazza del
Popolo and walk to Spanish
Steps
Day 3:
Morning
sightseeing includes the Forum, the Colosseum and Palantine Hill
Afternoon you
are free to shop or explore the city or join in organized
activities
Dinner at hotel
After dinner, we
will visit the Trevi Fountain, throw a coin in, make our wish and enjoy
some Italian Gelato (Ice Cream)
Day 4:
Morning visit to
the Vatican including St. Peter’s Church in St. Peter’s Square,
the memorable
Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel to view Michaelangelo’s Materspieces.
Afternoon you
are free to explore or join in organized activities
Dinner at hotel
After dinner, we
will visit the Pantheon
Day 5:
Morning visit
the Catacombs
Afternoon free
for you to explore or join in organized activities
Dinner at hotel
After dinner,
walk to Piazza Navona
Day 6:
Morning visit to
Springs of Saturnia
Dinner at hotel
Day 7:
Visit to
Hadrian’s Villa or Ostia Antica
Afternoon free
for you to explore or join in organized activities
Dinner at hotel
Day 8:
Morning walk
over to Villa Borghese Museum,
Afternoon picnic
in Villa Borghese Park and walk through
Special Dinner
in Rome
Day 9:
We transfer to
airport in Rome to return to Toronto
There
will be time in the afternoons for participants to explore, shop
and experience their surroundings. During the evenings students
will have the option to join staff in touring the various
districts in Rome.
